We are pleased to announce that Central Europe Review (CER) has merged with Transitions Online, a leader in news and information throughout the post-communist world.
CER is internationally known as a leading producer of high-quality coverage of culture and society in Central Europe, and TOL intends to keep those high standards while gradually integrating the journal into its own family of online journals, including Transitions Online (TOL), the Balkan Reconstruction Project (BRR), and the TOL Wire.
CER will modify its focus in the future, stressing the rich and vibrant cultures of the post-communist region, while CER contributors and columnists will appear more and more frequently on TOL's sites. For the next few months, CER will continue publishing with its current design and format, and we hope to start posting a backlog of brand new articles within a matter of days. Once we solve the technical issues related to transferring CER's large, rich archive to the TOL servers, it will move permanently to the TOL platform, where it will take a prominent place among TOL's other publications.
By combining our complementary resources and extensive networks, we plan to build a regional powerhouse of news and analysis, commentary and investigative reports, features and reviews—all with the informed local spin and expertise that separates our content from the rest of the field.
We invite you to join us on this new phase of our development, an we hope that you will become a frequent visitor to both the re-launched CER and TOL and its other publications.
With best regards,
The CER and TOL team
